More about TOR3

Tor 3 in Düsseldorf is a legendary music club and event venue that gained great fame in the 1980s and 1990s and is now opening its doors to music enthusiasts again. It is located in the Flingern-Nord district, in the immediate vicinity of Düsseldorf main train station. Tor 3 was and is a significant cornerstone of the alternative music scene in Germany, attracting artists and bands from a variety of genres including punk, new wave, industrial, rock and electronic music. Opened in 1978, the club quickly developed into an important venue for underground and experimental music. Tor 3 is widely known for its unconventional concerts, excessive parties and unique events. Numerous renowned bands and artists have played or continue to perform here, including Die Toten Hosen, EinOLLende Neuhäusern, DAF, Nena, Front 242 and The Sisters of Mercy. Gate 3 is characterized by its unmistakable atmosphere. The club features an industrial aesthetic with raw brick walls and a stage that is often accompanied by fog, lighting effects and projections. The events at Tor 3 are famous for their rousing and energetic atmosphere. In the mid-1990s, Tor 3’s popularity began to wane, but after a hiatus the club has reopened and has once again become a vibrant meeting place for music enthusiasts. Tor 3 remains an important institution in German music history, continuing to shape the music scene and offering up-and-coming artists a platform to present their music to an enthusiastic audience. It is a place that continues to shape and keep the alternative music scene in Düsseldorf and beyond alive.
