Formed on the island of Malta, Brighton-based / Anglo-Maltese outfit ĠENN is: Janelle Borg – guitars (she/her), Sofia Rosa Cooper – drums (she/they), Leona Farrugia – Vocals (she/they), and Leanne Zammit – bass (she/her). ĠENN is a self-described sisterhood founded on instinctive trust and an experimental collision of multinational backgrounds, with Maltese, British, Jamaican, and Portuguese roots represented across its four members. Their bold geographic move was mirrored by their 2023 debut unum - an album celebrated as a bold journey through experimental rock, post-punk, and Mediterranean folk. Notable press / radio acclaim arrived from BBC6, KEXP, Pitchfork, The Independent, Loud & Quiet, CLASH, Under the Radar, DIY, The Line of Best Fit, with a collaborative video for single The Sister Of also achieved a UK Music Video Award nomination. Von Maloun erschien im Frühjahr 2018 die Debüt EP FAITHFUL FRIEND, welche bereits mit Linda Dağ im Clouds Hill Studio in Hamburg aufgenommen wurde. Den Auftakt der neuen Existenz als JUNOKILL besiegelte das damalige Trio mit einer ersten Deutschland-Tour im März 2019. In den Jahren von 2017 bis 2020 bespielten sie diverse Bühnen im norddeutschen Raum, wie das Wutzrock Festival in Hamburg oder das Lunatic Festival in Lüneburg. Als JUNOKILL bewegte sich die Band fortan in experimentellere Gefilde, wo Klang, Melodie und Rhythmus in unterschiedlichen Formen vereint und erforscht wurden. Das darin entpuppte Debüt ASTROPUNK nahmen sie im Herbst 2020 mit Linda Dağ im Clouds Hill Studio auf, welches im August 2021 über Pussy Empire Recordings veröffentlicht wurde. Seit Sommer 2021 führt BibiKill FlashBomb aka BereNike/Niko Wuhrer die Band als Solo-Projekt mit wechselnden Band-Mitgliedern. Nach einigen Shows 2022 in Deutschland, entwickelte Bibikill neues Material, welches mit einer neuenBandbesetzung 2023/2024 mit Linda Dağ aufgenommen wurde und im Frühjahr 2025 als Album mit dem Titel MIMICRY veröffentlicht wurde.
